Let me say right up front, I didn't buy this watch. About four or five months ago, I purchased a group of watches from an estate on Ebay. When the watches arrived, the guy I bought them from had put in a note saying he had thrown in an extra watch, no charge. Well, the extra watch was a sad looking G-Shock GW-500 that had obviously lived a very hard life. The case and crystal were scratched up and dirty and half the strap was gone. I looked it over and noticed that it was a "Wave Ceptor" and had the "Tough Solar" feature, a pretty nice watch when it was new. I saw that the watch was still running but figured there was probably something wrong with it and so I tossed it in a box in my closet and forgot about it. A couple of months went by and one day I was cleaning out my closet and ran across this old G-Shock again. When I first picked it up, the display was blank but as soon as the light from a nearby window shined on it, the display sprang to life. To my amazement, the watch was not only displaying the correct time, the little satellite symbol on the dial was displayed, indicating that it had been synching with Ft. Collins all the time it had been in that box. I noticed the battery was showing low on the indicator so I placed it over in a sunny window and that afternoon when I checked it again, it was fully charged. I was so impressed, I cleaned it up and ordered a replacement watch band for it and I've been wearing it ever since. Sure, it's still beat up and looks like heck but that just makes me like it more. I have a lot of other watches I could wear but this one's become my faithful companion. Get more detail about Casio Men's G-Shock Atomic Tough Solar Atomic Watch #GW500A-1V.
